Advantage Media Group

What is your review process?
Due to the overwhelming number of submissions we receive, Advantage Media Group kindly asks that all prospective authors submit their book project in the following sequence:

  1. Complete our online publishing questionnaire
After reviewing your completed publishing questionnaire, our editorial board will contact you via e-mail to advise you of the next step.

  2. Submit your manuscript for review*
After conducting a thorough manuscript review, our editorial board will contact you with a decision and next steps forward.

*If you do not have a completed manuscript, Advantage will request a detailed outline of your proposed book or will ask you to participate in our writing consultation.

AMG can only consider submissions from authors who follow these steps.

May I call you to discuss my submission?
Due to the increase in submissions we no longer accept submission query phone calls, or phone calls for submission updates. After receiving your manuscript review, we will contact you to schedule a telephone conference after the review has been completed.

How long is the review process?
Allow approximately five to ten business days for your manuscript review. This process can take up to 20 business days depending on previous schedules and projects. Every submission is attended to on a first-come, first-served basis.

How will I be notified once my submission has been reviewed?
We will notify you by e-mail to schedule a telephone conference.

If I have written more than one book or a series of books, can I send all of them at one time?
No, we only accept one manuscript at a time.

Can I send in my book that has been published before, is out of print, or was self-published?
Yes, as long as you own the publishing rights or the publishing rights have been returned to you from the previous publisher.

Please submit a publishing application, and mail a physical copy of the previously published book to:

Advantage Media Group
Attn: Acquisitions

Does my book have to have an ISBN number or copyright before I submit it?
No. The publisher applies for this information after a book has been accepted and contracted. For more information on copyrights, contact the Library of Congress or visit www.copyright.gov.

Do you take my submission or information and use it for other publishing mediums?
Your manuscript and information is kept confidential and will not be disclosed with any parties outside of Advantage Media Group. The material is reviewed and published only if it has been accepted and the author has been contracted.

What are your royalty rates? What rights does an author receive? What is the cost of my book?
These questions are discussed during the contract stage after a book has been accepted.

Do I need to get permission to quote another book or source in mine
YES! Please make sure to source all excerpts of other printed materials and verify that permission has been given for their use. Not all quotes will need permission. Check with the publisher first.

Do I need permission from my friend to use her name in the book?
If you are using a name or story of a friend, husband, etc., in your book, you must have a signed permission release form.

Do I need an illustrator for my book or a cover design?
You do not need an illustrator or cover design before sending your proposal. If you have sketches or a previous cover design, please send them with your manuscript to give our designers an idea of what you want.

Do you publish poetry?
Our Elevate imprint does not publish poetry, testimonies, short stories, pamphlets, brochures, songbooks, or posters. Our Advantage imprint has published poetry in a gift book format and publishes testimonials.

My book is already published. Will you distribute and market the book?
We do not distribute or market other publishers' books.
